Currently

  • Diversity is fostered at Merck by integration of diversity initiatives into Merck Leadership Standards, which serves as  the foundation of all global human resource programs, policies and practices
  • Active Merck diversity strategy is in place since 2002. Worldwide diversity initiatives are recently actively pursued with the Global Constituency Groups, one of which aims to increase inclusion of women and development of women leaders
  • The Women’s Group has recently delivered recommendations for increasing gender diversity at
  • Merck and implementation phase has started since January 2008 across regions and countries worldwide. Each group for diversity expected to interact within and strengthen each other for the diversity initiatives going forward

Talent to the Top

TopBrainstorm was set up in May 2007 to stimulate government, corporate business and women themselves to introduce more female talent at the top. On the 30th of October 2007 TopBrainstorm presented, in the presence of the Prime Minister and other members of the government, a number of proposals to engage and nurture this female talent. The Charter Talent to the Top and supplementary plans should to the intended increase of the number of women in (the run-up to) top positions. Considering the sharp rise in the aging population, the shortage in the labor market, and especially the need for us to distinguish ourselves in the area of innovation, TopBrainstorm is convinced that the use of this talent is essential for the future of Netherlands Inc.
